Volunteer
Please help us celebrate the 38th annual Show and continue the tradition of San Francisco being home to the most prestigious art and antiques show on the West Coast. The Show benefits Enterprise for Youth, a nonprofit that empowers young people to prepare for and discover career opportunities. The success of the Show is due in large part to the commitment of our knowledgeable and gracious volunteers.
Volunteer Benefits
- 2 General Admission tickets for Show days
- An invitation to the Volunteer Cocktail Party to honor your hard work following the Show

Shifts during the Show last around 3 hours and take place Thursday, October 3 to Saturday, October 5, 10 a.m. – 7 p.m., and Sunday, October 6, 10:00 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Box Office
Sell General Admission and Lecture Series tickets using the Eventbrite app on iPads. Volunteers must be comfortable using electronic devices, swiping credit cards, printing receipts and handling cash. We will have a training for this.
Floor
Circulate the floor at the Show, providing guidance for guests and helping exhibitors who need to leave their booths for a short period of time.
Lecture Series
Scan and sell electronic tickets using a handheld device before each lecture. Tickets may be presented on a smartphone or a printed ticket. Volunteers should be comfortable using simple electronics and smartphone applications. Volunteers also assist guests in finding seats and help set up the Lecture Theatre by placing literature on the chairs. Volunteers may also be asked to assist with setting up and assisting during for the Book Signings that take place after most lectures.
Welcome
Ensure every guest’s entry into the Show is simple and pleasant. There are two roles:
Greeters & Ticket Scanners will welcome guests, hand out Show Catalogues and offer re-entry stamps to guests exiting the Show. During the early morning shifts, volunteers will need to escort guests back to special areas where breakfasts and talks are taking place. Ticket Scanners will use a hand-held device to scan guests’ tickets at the front door. Tickets may be presented on a smartphone or a printed ticket. Volunteers should be comfortable using simple electronics and smartphone applications. We will offer a short training.
Coat Check volunteers take and hang up guests’ coats in designated area. Provide coat check numbers, and retrieve coats when guests are ready to leave.
Invitations
Stuff, stamp, and seal Preview Gala invitations on August 17, 2019. Volunteers will be tasked with preparing Preview Gala Invitations for mailing at the Junior League’s office at 2226A Fillmore St., San Francisco. Lunch will be provided.
Office
Work with the staff in miscellaneous office tasks using spreadsheets, databases, and word documents, stuffing, stamping, and mailing or as needed based on the project. Hours are flexible and set based on availability and project deadlines.
